Professional Identity & Career Coaching
Clarify who you are becoming—and redesign your professional identity to match.

Based in San Francisco and working globally in English and Italian
When Your Career No Longer Reflects Who You Are
Major life transitions—becoming a parent, navigating divorce, managing health challenges, living between cultures, relocating, facing empty nest—shift your priorities, capacity, and sense of self. The career that once felt aligned now feels mismatched. The ambition that drove you feels hollow. The professional identity you built no longer fits the person you're becoming.
You're capable, accomplished, and committed. But the old playbook doesn't work anymore. Working longer hours isn't the answer. Pushing through isn't sustainable. The structures that supported your professional success were designed for a different version of your life.
People seek coaching not because they're failing, but because what once worked has stopped working—and they need to redesign their relationship to work from the ground up.
Are you are thinking:
Life priorities shifted—my old ambition doesn't fit anymore
I'm living between cultures—what does professional success mean when home is somewhere else?
I've outgrown my role but don't know what's next
My career feels hollow despite external success
Too many career options, I'm paralyzed by choice
Should I leave? Pivot? Start over? I need clarity
How Identity Coaching Works
Clarify who you are becoming—and redesign your work to match.
This is not traditional career coaching.
We don't focus on resumes, interviews, networking strategies, or industry positioning. Instead, we work at a deeper level: how your inner world and external work align.
Professional identity and career clarity coaching helps you realign your inner values, strengths, and current life conditions with external professional possibilities. We clarify who you are now, what matters most, and what sustainable success looks like in this season. Together we’ll explore four main domains:
-
We map your current reality—what's shifted in your life, what you value now versus then, what matters most in this phase. This creates clarity on who you are professionally today, not who you used to be.
-
Priorities shift after major transitions. We clarify your values, constraints, and non-negotiables so decisions are grounded in what actually matters today.
-
We build a coherent vision of your professional identity and how work integrates with the rest of your life. This isn't about returning to your old identity—it's about designing one that reflects who you're becoming and what kind of work structure truly fits your current reality.
-
We develop a clear plan for moving forward—whether that's internal negotiation, external search, entrepreneurship, or intentional pausing. You'll leave with clarity on your next steps and the confidence to act on them.
Why Work With Me
Hi, I’m Giulia.
I understand professional identity crises because I've lived them.
As a woman, mother, and immigrant who relocated from Italy to San Francisco, I've navigated the questions you're asking: How does work fit when life fundamentally changes? What does ambition look like when priorities shift? How do you redesign professional identity when the old version no longer works? What does "success" mean when you're building a career and life between two countries, two languages, two versions of yourself?
I've also lived the career transition you might be contemplating. I spent 15 years in management consulting before becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist—a complete professional reinvention that required clarity on who I was, what mattered, and how to build a career aligned with my evolving values and life.
I bring both clinical training and strategic consulting experience to this work. I understand the inner landscape of identity questions and the external reality of professional systems. I know what it's like to rebuild professional identity from the ground up—not hypothetically, but personally.
This approach is for people who need more than career tactics. You need someone who understands identity, values, life complexity, and strategic decision-making..

Your Questions, Answered
-
Professional identity coaching helps you clarify who you are now as a professional, what matters most in this phase of life, and how your work can reflect that. It focuses on alignment, meaning, and sustainability—not resumes or job search tactics.
-
Professional identity coaching addresses who you are as a professional—your values, priorities, and relationship to work—rather than tactical job search strategies. Traditional career coaching focuses on resumes, interviews, networking, and industry positioning. Professional identity coaching works at a deeper level: clarifying what matters now, exploring how work fits your life, and redesigning your professional identity after major life changes. This approach is for people questioning their entire relationship to work, not just looking for their next job.

Yes. Career transitions at 40 (and beyond) often happen because your priorities, values, or life conditions have fundamentally shifted—not because you've failed. This coaching is specifically designed for professionals whose old career path no longer fits who they are now. Whether you're a parent navigating new demands, someone who's realized your work feels hollow, or simply outgrown your role, we clarify who you are professionally today and what sustainable success looks like in this phase of life.
-
Yes. Becoming a parent often shifts everything—your capacity, priorities, values, and sense of self. The career identity that worked before may feel impossible or misaligned now. Career clarity coaching helps you redesign your professional identity for your current reality: what work structure fits your life, how ambition and parenthood can coexist, and whether staying, pivoting, or pausing makes sense. This isn't about "bouncing back"—it's about building something that actually works.

Career clarity coaching typically runs 6-10 sessions over 2-4 months, depending on the complexity of your situation and decision-making timeline. Sessions are 60 minutes, conducted via secure video. We start by mapping your current reality, then explore possibilities, design your professional identity, and create a clear plan for moving forward. Some clients continue with occasional sessions during implementation; others complete the work and move forward independently.
